Each lesson explains the why as well as the how, shows the mistakes beginners make, lets you edit and run every example, and ends with an exercise that checks your code in your browser and a short quiz.

Who this course is for
Anyone who wants to build websites: students, career changers, shop owners who want their own page, and developers who learned by copying and want the fundamentals. You need a computer or phone with a modern browser. A computer with a keyboard is easier for the exercises.
How each lesson works
Every lesson has the same shape so you always know where you are: a short answer at the top, explanations with editable examples, a "common mistakes" section, an exercise, a quiz with an explanation for every answer, and an FAQ. The example editors update the result as you type. The console under each result shows errors, form data you submit and links you click, so you can see what the browser is doing.
How the exercise checks work
When you press "Check my code", your browser reads your HTML (without running it) and tests it against the lesson’s rules, such as "every image has alt text" or "the table has a caption". Each rule turns green or red, so you know exactly what to fix. Nothing is sent to us. The checks test structure, not style, so different correct answers all pass.
Where the facts come from
HTML is defined by the WHATWG HTML Living Standard, and the most trusted guides are MDN Web Docs and the W3C’s accessibility tutorials. Each lesson lists the exact pages we checked and the date we checked them. If something on the web platform changes, we update the lesson and its date. If you spot a mistake, the contact page reaches the team directly.

Questions about this course
Is this HTML course really free?
Yes. All lessons, the live editor, exercises and quizzes are free, with no account, no trial and nothing locked. The site is supported by optional donations.
Do I get a certificate?
Not at the moment. Employers judge web developers mostly by what they can build, so the final project is designed to go in your portfolio. We would rather say this plainly than sell a certificate.
Where is my progress saved?
In your browser’s local storage on this device. We do not receive it. Clearing site data or using a private window removes it, and it does not move between devices.
Can I learn HTML on my phone?
Yes, the lessons, editor and quizzes work on phones, and the result shows under the code. Typing code is slower on a touch keyboard, so a computer is more comfortable for the exercises.
Is HTML enough to get a job?
On its own, rarely. Front end roles expect HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and full stack roles add a back end language, databases and deployment. That is the full path laid out on the learning hub.
Code examples stay in English and run in a sandbox on your device. Arabic text is pending native review. If you spot a mistake, tell us through the contact page.
