Why your files stay on your device
Most free PDF sites upload your documents to their servers to process them. That is a real risk when the files are a passport copy, an Emirates ID, a tenancy contract or a bank statement. This tool works differently. The merging runs inside your own browser with an open-source library called pdf-lib, so the files are read from your phone or computer, combined in memory and saved back to your device. Nothing is sent to NeedMyTools or to anyone else. You can check this yourself: once the page has loaded, switch off your internet connection and the tool still works.
Built for the paperwork Gulf residents actually do
Visa and residency applications, Emirates ID renewals, bank account openings, school admissions and job applications in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC often ask for a single PDF that contains several documents. A typical file is a passport copy, the visa page, a photo, a salary certificate and a tenancy contract. Many portals accept only one upload per field and limit the number of files, so merging them first saves you a failed submission. Because the tool also accepts JPG and PNG, you can photograph a paper document with your phone and add it directly between your PDFs without converting it first.
How images are placed in the PDF
Each image becomes its own page. Portrait photos go on an A4 portrait page and wide photos on an A4 landscape page, centred with a small margin. Images are never stretched beyond their real size, so small scans stay sharp instead of turning blurry. PDF pages keep their original size, orientation, text and links. If one of your PDFs is password-protected, the tool will tell you which one; open it in a PDF reader, save a copy without the password, and add that copy instead.
Tips for a clean result
Put the document the reader needs first at the top, usually the application form or the passport copy. Give the file a clear name with your name and the purpose, because officers and HR teams handle hundreds of files a day. If a portal has a size limit such as 2 MB or 5 MB, scan at 150 to 200 dpi rather than 600 dpi; that keeps text readable while the file stays small. There is no limit on how many times you use the tool, and it works the same on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac.
