Government services by country: the official websites, checked

Finding the real government website is harder than it should be: search results mix official portals with agents, copycat sites and old links. For each country we open the national portal and the main service sites ourselves, write down what each one actually offers, and publish only what we could verify, with the date. We are covering all 195 countries, starting with the Gulf.

Quick answer

Each country page lists that country's national government portal first, then the official sites for identity and residency, visas, work, tax, business registration, health, education, police and courts, with a short description of what you can do on each. Every link was opened and checked on the date shown, and sites we could not verify are named separately and not linked.

Coming next

These countries are next in line. We publish a country only when its main portals can be verified, so a country whose sites do not load for our checker waits for a re-check instead of getting a thin page.

Bangladesh · Philippines · Egypt · Nepal · United States · United Kingdom

How we check every website

We open each site with our checker and record the date, the address it ended on and the page title. A site is listed only if it opened and its content matched the government body, or if its exact address is linked from an official government page we opened that day. We describe each site from what it shows, not from memory, and we never link agents, consultants or unofficial "helper" sites.

Why some important sites are named but not linked

Many government sites block visitors from abroad or from data centres, so they do not always load for our checker. Rather than guess an address, we name those bodies under "not verified yet" and add the link once we can confirm it. If you can see a site we have not verified, the address you reach by typing it yourself is the one to trust.

How we keep the list current

Government addresses change when services move to new platforms. We re-check every published country page each month, remove or fix dead links the same day, and update the date at the top of the page.

Questions about this directory

Is this an official government website?

No. NeedMyTools is an independent site. We link to official government websites and describe what they offer, but we do not provide government services, collect fees or process applications.

How do I know a government website is real?

Check the address before you sign in or pay: official sites usually use a government domain such as .gov.ae or .gov.sa, or a known national address such as u.ae or bahrain.bh. Type it yourself instead of following a link in a message. Our scam guides list the fake sites and messages reported most in each country.

Which countries are covered?

We are adding all 195 countries (the 193 UN member states plus the Holy See and Palestine), starting with the Gulf. The pages above are live; the countries under "Coming next" are being checked.

How often is each country page checked?

Every published country is re-checked at least once a month. The date at the top of each page is the day every link on it was last verified.

Can you apply for a visa or renew a document for me?

No, and be careful with anyone online who offers to do it for a fee without being an authorised agent. Apply directly on the official site listed for your country, or through a channel that site names.
