Kuwait Government Services: Mata, Finance, Commerce, MEW and Education Websites

Kuwait’s ministries each run their own official site, and several of the most used services, such as government appointments, e-payments, commerce complaints and certificate equivalency, are reached through them. This page lists the Kuwaiti government sites we opened and checked on 18 October 2026. Some important portals, including the national e-government portal and the civil ID authority, did not load for our checker, so we name them below without a link rather than guess an address.

Quick answer

For government appointments Kuwait uses the Mata platform (meta.e.gov.kw), linked from the Ministry of Finance site. Payments to government go through the Ministry of Finance’s Tasdeed e-payment system (mof.gov.kw), commerce complaints and company matters through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (moci.gov.kw, hotlines 135 and 137), electricity and water bills through the MEW customer portal (mew.gov.kw), and certificate equivalency through the Ministry of Higher Education (mohe.edu.kw).

Before you use these sites

Check Mata before you go

The Ministry of Finance points to the Mata platform for booking government appointments. Before you visit an office, check on Mata whether you can book a slot instead of queuing at a counter.

Pay government only on .gov.kw sites

Official Kuwaiti ministry sites use .gov.kw or, for education, .edu.kw addresses. A text message with a link to "pay a fine" on any other address is a warning sign. Our Kuwait scam guide lists the fake payment and job messages reported most often and where to report them.

Degree from abroad? Check equivalency first

The Ministry of Higher Education publishes the universities it accredits and runs the certificate equivalency system. Checking both before you accept a job offer that depends on your degree avoids surprises later.

Why are some Kuwaiti portals not linked on this page?

We link a site only after opening it ourselves or finding its exact address on an official page we opened. The national e-government portal, the civil ID authority and several ministries did not load for our checker on 18 October 2026, so they are named without a link until a re-check succeeds.

NeedMyTools is not a government website. Links and descriptions were checked on the date above; services, fees and rules can change, so always confirm on the official site. Arabic text is pending native review.
