Bahrain Government Services: bahrain.bh, LMRA, SIO, NBR and Other Official Websites

Bahrain’s national portal, bahrain.bh, is the front door to government information, and its eServices portal lists online services by category and by the body that provides them. Work permits, social insurance, company registration and VAT each have a dedicated official site. This page lists the sites we opened and checked, with what each one handles.

Quick answer

Use bahrain.bh, the Kingdom’s national portal, and its eServices portal (services.bahrain.bh) to find online services by category. Expatriate work permits are with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (lmra.gov.bh), social insurance with the SIO (sio.gov.bh), company registration on Sijilat (sijilat.bh) and VAT with the National Bureau for Revenue (nbr.gov.bh).

Before you use these sites

Search eServices by provider

If you know which body you deal with, the eServices portal lets you list every online service it offers. If you only know what you need, browse by category instead, for example traffic, or marriage, birth and death.

Workers: LMRA is where your permit lives

An expatriate worker’s permit and employer details are held by the LMRA, and its Wage Protection System and protection centre are the official routes for wage and welfare problems. Check your own record there instead of relying on what an agent tells you.

Avoid lookalike sites

Bahrain government sites use .gov.bh or .bh addresses such as bahrain.bh. Our Bahrain scam guide covers the fake payment and job messages reported most often and where to report them.
