Which kind of stamp to make
A round stamp with the business name curved along the top and the city along the bottom is the classic company stamp on invoices, delivery notes and letters across the Gulf; the inner-ring template adds a department or branch name on a second curve, and the seal template keeps the centre for your own logo inside a saw-tooth edge. A rectangle or square suits a return address, a department, or a name and job title under a signature. The hexagon badge works for a shop, a club or a quality-check mark. Status stamps record what happened to a document: RECEIVED with the date on incoming post, PAID on a settled invoice, APPROVED or REJECTED on a request, CHECKED in a warehouse, DRAFT, COPY or ORIGINAL on versions, VOID on a cancelled cheque or receipt, and CONFIDENTIAL or URGENT on internal papers. Every word on every template can be changed.
Company stamp with a TRN, VAT or CR number
Many businesses in the UAE and Saudi Arabia print their tax or registration number on their stamp so a tax invoice or quotation shows it in one place. Choose the Company + TRN/CR template, or pick a label under Registration number on any template: TRN, VAT No., CR No. or Licence No. The label is written in the stamp language (in Arabic, for example, رقم التسجيل الضريبي or س.ت), and the number is only what you type: we never fill in, look up or check a number. If you leave the number empty, the stamp shows the label with a line to write it on by hand. Check the digits against your certificate before you use the stamp on invoices.
Signature, date and writing lines
The Signature and date template puts your company name above two lines to write on, "Signed by:" and "Date:", so a printed stamp leaves room for a pen signature and the day it was signed. Any line on any template can get a writing line: tick Line to write on and the rest of the line becomes a rule, on the right for English and on the left for Arabic. For a printed date instead, tick Add a date: today's date fills in automatically from your device, in one of five formats, and Arabic stamps can use Gulf month names. To add a drawn signature to a PDF as well, use:
Putting the stamp on a PDF
Press Add to a PDF and choose the file. The stamp is placed on the page you are viewing; drag it where it belongs, pull the green corner to resize it, use the arrows to move to another page, and press Add stamp to put a copy there too. When you download, the stamp is written into the PDF as a transparent image at print quality and the rest of the file is left as it was. This uses the same editor as our PDF editor, so you can also add text or a tick before saving. To mark every page at once instead, see:
Adding the stamp to a Word document
The quickest way is the Word file button: it downloads a .docx with the stamp already at its real size in millimetres and set to In front of text, so you can drag it straight onto a signature line or copy it into your own document. To insert the PNG yourself:
- Download the PNG. The file records its print size, so Word inserts it at the size you chose rather than as a huge picture.
- In Word, click where the stamp should go, then choose Insert, Pictures, This Device (on a Mac: Insert, Pictures, Picture from File) and pick the PNG.
- With the picture selected, open Wrap Text (the Layout Options button next to the picture) and choose In Front of Text, so you can drag the stamp over a signature line or a table.
- Drag a corner handle, not a side handle, to resize it without stretching. The transparent background lets lines and text show through like real ink.
- In Google Docs, use Insert, Image, Upload from computer, then set the image to In front of text. Copy image also works: paste it with Ctrl+V.
Arabic, English and bilingual stamps
Arabic text is set by your browser's own text engine, so letters join correctly and lines run right to left, including on the curves of a round stamp, where the whole word is bent round the circle rather than placed letter by letter. The Arabic + English template puts the Arabic company name over the top and the English name along the bottom, with the city in both languages in the middle, as many UAE and Saudi companies do. Letter spacing on the curve applies to English only, because Arabic letters must stay joined. Fonts differ slightly between devices, so check the preview before you download.
Size, resolution, fonts and ink
Real company stamps are usually 38 to 45 mm round, or about 50 to 65 mm wide when rectangular; set the size in millimetres and every download keeps it. A 600 DPI PNG is sharp on any printed page; choose 1200 DPI for a large stamp or very fine text, or 300 DPI for a small file to email. The six fonts are the ones this site already ships (Inter, Liberation Sans, Liberation Serif, Liberation Mono, Carlito and Caladea), with IBM Plex Sans Arabic for Arabic letters, so nothing extra is downloaded. Ink strength lightens the stamp so the text underneath stays readable, and worn rubber ink removes small specks the way an old stamp pad does. The SVG keeps text editable for a print shop; it uses the fonts on the computer that opens it, so use the PNG or Word file when the look must match exactly.
What this tool will not make
This stamp maker is for ordinary business and personal paperwork. It offers no government emblems, coats of arms or national symbols, and it will not produce seals of courts, notaries, police, customs, ministries, embassies, consulates, banks or attestation offices, or any stamp with wording such as "Government of", "Ministry", "Notary", "Court", "Police", "Customs", "Embassy", "Attested", "Emblem" or "Official seal", or their Arabic equivalents. The check also catches common misspellings, spaced or dotted letters, digits used as letters and look-alike Cyrillic or Greek letters. Customs-clearance businesses can still make their own company stamp: "Customs Clearance", "Customs Broker" and "Customs Agent" are allowed, while the customs authority's own wording is not. If such wording appears, downloading is switched off and a message explains why. No logos of real organisations are included; you may add your own logo, and only a logo you own.
A stamp image is not a legal seal or signature
A picture of a stamp shows who issued a document or what happened to it; on its own it does not prove anything, and it is not an official seal. Some authorities and banks ask for a physical company stamp or a verified electronic signature, so check what the receiver accepts. Using a stamp to pretend to be another company or a government body, or to alter or forge a document, is a crime in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and almost every other country, and you are responsible for how you use what you make here. For invoices and receipts that carry your stamp, see:
